About

I am Dr. Patricia Singh, Ph.D., LPCC, a dedicated professional specializing in radical transformation through integrative mental health, addiction recovery, and psychedelic-assisted therapy. With a doctorate in Mind-Body Medicine specializing in Integrative Mental Health from Saybrook University, I have spent my career developing holistic, trauma-informed approaches to behavioral health.
My Work & Leadership Roles (2024-2025)In addition to my 27+ years in the behavioral health field, I have expanded my roles to advance mental health care, addiction treatment, and psychedelic harm reduction in both clinical and community settings.
✅ Founder & Owner, A New Awakening Counseling (Albuquerque, NM)
I own and operate A New Awakening Counseling, a progressive addiction rehabilitation facility, where I integrate evidence-based and holistic approaches to foster resilience and lasting recovery. My work focuses on supporting individuals in overcoming substance use disorders, trauma, and mental health challenges.
✅ National Director of Behavioral Healthcare, Wellness Equity Alliance
In 2024, I took on a leadership role in behavioral health equity, helping to develop accessible, community-based mental health and addiction services for vulnerable populations, including incarcerated individuals, returning citizens, and unhoused populations.
✅ Co-Founder, Trip HōM – Psychedelic Harm Reduction & Integration
As a co-founder of Trip HōM, a collaborative initiative among medical and mental health providers, I help guide individuals through psychedelic harm reduction and integration coaching. Our mission is to provide safe, trauma-informed, and supportive environments for those exploring psychedelics for healing and transformation.

✅ Author – Mycelopause: Psychedelics & Menopause (Spring 2025 Release)
I am currently co-authoring Mycelopause, a book that explores how psilocybin and psychedelic-assisted therapy can help women navigate menopause and midlife transitions. This work integrates my research on psychedelics, trauma, and holistic healing, offering a new paradigm for women's health and empowerment.
✅ Certified Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Provider
I completed my certification in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy through the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in 2023. My work focuses on preparing clients for psychedelic experiences and providing structured integration support, ensuring they can process and apply their experiences in meaningful, life-changing ways.
✅ Expert in Ayurvedic & Holistic Healing
My background includes studying Ayurvedic health principles under Dr. Deepak Chopra at the Chopra Center in Carlsbad, California, where I became a certified teacher. I incorporate Ayurvedic philosophy, meditation, guided imagery, breathwork, and yoga to promote mind-body healing and balance.
Where I Work & LiveI split my time between Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Oxnard, California, continuing my work to support individuals in their journey toward greater clarity, purpose, and love.
Families affected by addiction often experience deep emotional pain, instability, and trauma, leaving lasting imprints on those involved. Over time, family members may develop symptoms such as anxiety, depression, chronic stress, hyper-vigilance, low self-worth, and even physical ailments like chronic tension and body aches. If left unaddressed, these symptoms can mirror the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), impacting one's mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
I define this experience as Caretaker Trauma Symptoms (CTS)—a transformation in the self that results from deep, empathic engagement with an addicted family member. CTS is not just about witnessing addiction; it is about the profound emotional burden of caregiving, where love and concern evolve into exhaustion, depletion, and self-neglect.

Healing Through Integrative & Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy

My approach to healing CTS is rooted in trauma-informed care, integrative mental health, and psychedelic-assisted therapy. I provide:
✅ Support for Family Members of Those Struggling with Addiction – Helping individuals recognize how addiction affects their own well-being and providing tools to reclaim their sense of self.
✅ Psychedelic Harm Reduction & Integration – Guiding individuals through intentional, structured psychedelic experiences as a tool for healing generational and relational trauma.
✅ Holistic Approaches to Trauma Recovery – Incorporating mind-body healing, meditation, breathwork, and Ayurvedic practices to support emotional resilience.
✅ Reframing Caretaker Trauma – Helping caregivers move from burnout and depletion to self-restoration and empowerment.

Expanding the Work: Psychedelics & Women’s Healing
In addition to addiction recovery and trauma work, I am deeply invested in psychedelic-assisted therapy for women navigating midlife transitions. My upcoming book, Mycelopause (Spring 2025), explores the role of psilocybin in menopause, addressing hormonal shifts, emotional well-being, and identity transformation through a holistic and psychedelic lens.

A Commitment to Transformative Healing:
My work integrates addiction science, trauma therapy, and psychedelic medicine to help individuals and families heal, reclaim their autonomy, and step into a renewed sense of self. Whether supporting someone struggling with CTS, addiction, or personal transformation, my goal is to create a pathway toward healing that is intentional, compassionate, and life-affirming.
